PIMAX ignition coils and spark plug leads are designed to withstand heat and vibrations, enhancing the performance of petrol engines across vehicles of all eras.
Ignition coils and spark plug leads are integral parts of the petrol engine ignition system. Their role is to generate and distribute the electrical voltage required to produce the spark that initiates combustion.
Ignition coils are electromagnetic induction transformers consisting of two separate windings—primary and secondary—that convert the low voltage of the vehicle’s electrical system into the high voltage needed to ignite the air-fuel mixture in the engine. There are various types, ranging from canister coils used in classic cars to modern solutions such as dual-spark coils, wasted spark coils, single-spark coils, and coil-on-plug systems.
Spark plug leads carry high voltage from the coil to the spark plug, enabling the combustion process. Made of a conductive core protected by insulating silicone or EPDM sheathing, damaged leads can cause current leakage, resulting in starting difficulties, poor acceleration, and increased fuel consumption.
